If you want to visit
Suðuroy
the most southerly of the
Faroe Islands
, you will travel on the new ferry
Smyril
. The crossing takes about two hours and is a fantastic experience in itself.
You will have a good view of nine of the total of eighteen islands, that make up the archipelago. They will appear in the following order:

As you travel past the two Dimun islands, the coastline of Suðuroy is in the background.
At once you will, quite rightly, feel welcome on the most southerly Faroe Island, which will offer you many exciting experiences.
Suðuroy er den sydligste ø på Færøerne. De fleste bygder ligger på østkysten. Kun Sumba og Fámjin ligger på vestkysten med de mange stejle og let tilgængelige fuglefjelde.Tvøroyri i nordøst og Vágur i syd er øens to industri og handelsmetropoler I nord befinder sig de to idylliske bygder Sandvík und Hvalba, hvorfra man kan se øerne Lítla Dímun og Stóra Dímun. Øst for Tvøroyri ligger bygden Froðba som er Færøernes ældste bygd.
